Froogle feed time
Christmas time is just around the next corner and there is no better time to start promoting your products than before the christmas rush sets in and it begins to seem like everyone else was in line before you. Froogle offers an excellent way to provide ‘instant SEO’ and instant customers to your store. Comptrio has provided many Froogle product feeds for our clients and right now is an excellent time to get your feed running on your own site.
What the Froogle feed does is it allows your product database to be displayed on Froogles website… where people go to SHOP!! How much more targeted can you get than people with credit cards on their desk rubbing the paint off the numbers looking for the products you have to offer them? Froogle has an excellent customer base of people shopping their site and best of all, their service is free for you to use.
How do you create a Froogle feed? I’ll tell you to do it manually (skip to the next paragraph when you decide to go the easy way)…. start with the URL of your product starting from the http:// all the way to the .html (or what have you). hit the tab key and enter your products name inbetween quotes. If you have any quotes in the name (like a 17″ wrench) make sure to double quote them as in 17″” wrench. Close those quotes and press the tab key again. enter your product description within quotes and again, be sure to double quote and quotes within the decription. Press tab again. This time Froogle wants the entire URL to your product image. Enter it from the http:// to the .jpg and hit the tab key again. Froogle is looking for the category that your product is in this time. Enter the product category and hit the tab key again. The price goes next… use the price without the dollar sign. This time you get to press the enter key and start the next line with your next product. Repeat this until your entire product database is entered and you are ready to go!
OR you could click one URL on your site (to access my script)… and get another cup of coffee… you could bake your own coffecake with all the time you save.

I cannot answer on behalf of Google, but you should have been spidered by now. Are you using sitemaps?
AutoMapIt.com can spider your site, create sitemaps in 6 different formats (including Google’s XML sitemap) and deliver them to your site regularly. AutoMapIt will even ping Google, Yahoo, and other search engines including Searchwarp, RORSeek, and Burf.com to name some of them. Using sitemaps will certainly help to speed up the process and usually works within a matter of days, not weeks.
The best thing that you can do to get any of your pages noticed is to get some incoming links. Exchanging links, writing articles, posting comments on peoples blogs are all good ways to obtain incoming links… just be careful that you aren’t being spammy and folks might keep your link on their pages.
